COngratulations for The Independent Day! We have only National Foundation Day in Japan. It is very hot these days in Tokyo. Summer is half over is very good news for us. I took moss temple's garden photos in Kyoto. I hope you enjoy them.

Happy July 4th Lisa,
sorry to hear of the extra workload.

I am glad that you guys also preserve those handsome barns by turning them into dwellings.

Andrea said...

Gorgeous house. It looks like you have a beautiful setting there. Hoping you can find more time to relax! Our holidays have just begun....what to do? Happy 4th July :)

Henrietta said...

That is so charming place and I can believe how much work you have done to get it in that condition. I love it and it is so handy to have it so close to home, not too much driving.

Margaret said...

It is a home that takes my breath away and has SO much character. I love everything about it and you are so lucky. Enjoy your weekend tucked away in that red barn ... house. It would be so cool if you could find some old photos of it as a barn with horses! Maybe you already do.

this photo is amazing, and i can't believe you renovated it as your home away from home! so jealous of the dream kitchen.

...am I missing something... should there be a linky or are we not doing the link thing this week? I will check back later today. :)

What a beautiful renovation! I love the color, I love the setting - I love your processing of this photo!

Jane said...

Beautiful photo Lisa. Wishing you a wonderful 4th of July.

The link is not up today for Creative Exchange.

Looks like a gorgeous shot. I like the way you've processed this with a glow and subtle texture.
Hope that new text doesn't overwhelm. I remember that frustration-pluses and minses, but planning is a lot easier when you know "that lesson on p. 72 will work perfectly".
Just today I wrote about the speed of summer-not just you. Enjoy that deck and view.

Any link?
Great 4th of July!
My best regards from Romania!

Becca said...

Oh I can just imagine your kitchen from the looks of your home! I would be out on the deck all the time! Good luck with your new teaching stuff & try not to think about it today. Love your processing with this photo too.

Ashley Sisk said...

That is such a beautiful shot and I love the processing. Gorgeous!

That is SO a barn! I guess that could be your "lake" just like the lake where we're at right now is "our" lake (if that makes any sense at all. It does in my head!). Anyway, it's great to have an escape, isn't it?

Happy July 4th to you, too! : )

Anna said...

Lisa, Happy 4th to you! Your home away from home looks like a wonderful place to relax at! Sorry to hear that the rest of your summer won't be at full "play" mode. Teaching is a huge job even without those unexpected changes. Enjoy the moments that you can!

justine said...

oh you lucky thing! what a wonderful second home! I have linked up today spurred on by your picture!

Lui said...

Oh, I so envy you Lisa for living in such a beautiful house like this! I love recycling and I love what you did to this old barn and made it your home!

Happy 4th of July Lisa! Your barn/home looks lovely, I think it definitely counts as a barn. Sorry I haven't been able to link in for a couple of weeks, with the move. Hopefully in a week or so I'll be back to a new/normal creative schedule!!

Sara Chapman in Seattle, USA said...

This is my first time linking here. Are there any special rules or limits I should know about?

Love your charming and well tended place. I want to sit outside there and relax; I'll bring the cookies.

Scott said...

Amazing shot. Looks almost too perfect to be real. Fortunately most of my "looking-forward-to" activities are still ahead of me, but I know they'll be behind me too soon. Thank heavens for photography so we can keep living them.

EG Wow said...

Yep, for sure your house counts! I bet it's nice and roomy inside. :)

Hope to post a barn later on today. It's a wonderful idea this barn charme.

I have just learned of your Creative Exchange, and find the posts here very interesting. Your home is a real hideaway. Lucky for you to have all that nature so near to your home in the city.

Hi Lisa,

Of course it counts & it's GORGEOUS! =) My goodness, how cool it must be to live there... that's something I'd absolutely love to do, to remodel an old barn to live in! =)

Thank you very much for linking up to Barn Charm w/ this beauty! =)))

Cool shot and great edit!

Mikko Tyllinen said...

Have a lovely new week Lisa! Beautiful house!:)

Stacey said...

Beautiful barn shot from Tricia! Yes, as a teacher i can relate to you being in work mode because of the introduction of new textbooks. Luckily for us, because of budget cuts, we haven't changed text books yet(happens every five years and it has passed 5 years...). However, i do hope you're going to try to enjoy as much of summer as you can! XX

Deanna said...

What a lovely place...so peaceful and a beautiful home to spend your summers.

Barbara said...

I'd say it definitely counts! What a gorgeous photo, too - looks like a painting! Hope you had a wonderful 4th and summer slows down a bit for you (and me, too!)

Tammy said...

Now, this one looks like it was converted to a house...yes?

As for summer, well, if you say that Summer begins at memorial day, then you have June, July and August....We still have all of August and most of July, so, we are only 1/3 through. Then again, If you go with the actual start of summer on June 21st, we have only just begun!

Enjoy what's left :)

Gail Dixon (Louisiana Belle) said...

What a beautiful place you have!! You'll have to post photos of your dream kitchen for those of us still dreaming of ours. :)

Personally, I'm glad the summer is half over. Here in Texas we are boiling. The high today is expected to be 100. I actually think my car could double as an oven on days like this.

Lisa said...

What a fabulous second home getaway! I love it. I'm sure it was great fun to see it transform right in front of your eyes. The ultimate creative exchange! :-) Hope you had a wonderfully relaxing holiday.

Simone said...

What a perfect place to escape to! I hope that you can manage to take some time out to enjoy your break ....so much for all those long holidays they accuse us of having!!!!!
